Today I am sharing 7 effective home remedies for boosting hair growth. All of these DIY’s are natural products. Many people suffer from hair loss. Unfortunately, many can not afford those expensive medical treatments that are available right now.
The good news is that there are plenty of alternatives that are capable of reversing the effects of shedding. So if you’re noticing frequent hair loss and you’re worried that you might be suffering from hair loss, it wouldn’t hurt to try some of the home remedies we’ve listed down below.
What’s convenient about these treatments is that they’re safe, natural, and readily accessible to anyone who can drive to a grocery store. There’s no harm in trying these home remedies, unless of course you are allergic to them.
With that in mind, here are seven effective home remedies for boosting hair growth!
Let’s start this off with something that’s probably already in your refrigerator: eggs. This home remedy is very popular, thanks to its efficacy and the fact that eggs are so common. In fact, this particular remedy is used all over the world for quick hair growth!
This is because eggs contain lots of protein. This helps in the formation and development of new strands. Additionally, it is rich in zinc, iron, sulphur, selenium, iodine, and phosphorous.
If you want to harness the power of eggs, you can make an egg mask by separating the whites from the yolk. Add one teaspoon of olive oil to the egg white and mix it in. Once a paste is formed, apply it all over your hair and leave it to rest for 20 minutes.
Afterwards, make sure to rinse it off completely with cool water and shampoo.
Nature truly is magical. There are lots of strange herbs out there that cure all sorts of diseases. But sometimes, nature’s magic comes in the form of some common vegetable. The onion may be causing people to cry every time they try to slice and dice it. But it has a lot of benefits other than making your dishes more delicious.
Regarded as one of the oldest kinds of natural hair loss remedies, onions use sulphur to boost collagen production in the tissues. This aids in the re-growth of hair strands. Its strong smell also fades away after one rinse, so don’t be discouraged from using it.
To use it, just cut a few slices of onion – try to hold in the tears – and squeeze out its juice by mashing it. Apply the juice directly on your scalp for about 15 minutes before rinsing off.
This one is just a tad bit less common, but you’ll surely find some lemons in the grocery store. Lemons are rich in vitamins, including C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, as well as other nutrients. Loaded with antioxidants, it can facilitate hair growth while also stimulating the scalp. In the long run, this prevents further hair loss as it strengthens the strands. However, do not use it excessively, as it can lighten your hair color over time.
To use lemon juice, mix it in with two parts of olive oil and then apply it on your hair. Leave it on for 30 to 45 minutes and then wash it out with a mild shampoo. Repeat this once or twice a week.
Since we’re on the topic of slightly acidic stuff that’s good for your hair, consider using apple cider vinegar. This kind of vinegar cleanses your scalp and also maintains the pH balance of the hair. This is a great way to accelerate hair growth.
Mix 75ml of apple cider vinegar in one litre of water. Use it after washing your hair, as part of the final rinse. This will also make your hair shiny, so that’s a welcome bonus.
Many people love green tea for its relaxing qualities. But if you find yourself ignoring those tea bags and slowly throwing them away over time, use it for your hair loss problem instead! It’s rich in antioxidants, so it helps in boosting hair growth while also preventing hair loss.
Using it is easy too: apply warm green tea directly over your scalp, and leave it there for an hour. Wash it off with cold water, and you’ve got a perfectly relaxing solution to shedding.
Coconut oil is often used to complement other natural remedies. But coconut milk on the other hand can work alone to provide your hair with iron, potassium, and essential fats.
It’s better if you take the milk out from a fresh coconut instead of buying coconut milk. Add in half a squeeze of lemon, mix thoroughly and then use as a mask. Leave it on for 4 to 5 hours before rinsing off.
We saved the least common ingredient for last, but fenugreek is an herb that’s considered an age-old remedy for hair growth problems. You’ll see this in countless articles and testimonials because of its proteins and nicotinic acid. It is my secret ingredient to growing healthy longer hair. Fenugreek is the herb that has been overlooked, and under the radar. It is my favorite ingredient to add to any hair mask for hair growth!
Add a tablespoon of fenugreek and some water in a grinder and wait until a paste is formed. Add some coconut milk and apply to your hair and scalp for half an hour before washing off with a mild sulfate free shampoo. Follow with a mild conditioner.
